The Part-Time Evening Phlebotomy Instructor will provide high-quality instruction and hands-on training to students enrolled in our Phlebotomy program. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching and committed to ensuring students are fully prepared for certification exams and careers in the field of phlebotomy.  This position requires teaching online and lab environment on Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. and may involve assisting with externship placements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction and Training:
     
    • Teach theoretical and practical aspects of phlebotomy, including venipuncture techniques, anatomy, medical terminology, and laboratory safety.
  •  
    • Conduct engaging classroom lectures and hands-on lab sessions in accordance with the program curriculum.
  •  
    • Demonstrate and guide students through essential procedures, emphasizing proper technique and patient care.
  •  
  • Student Support and Assessment:
     
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  •  
    • Provide individualized support to students to help them grasp complex concepts and skills.
  •  
    • Evaluate and assess student performance through exams, practical exercises, and assignments.
  •  
  • Program Administration:
     
    • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  •  
    • Assist in curriculum development and updates to reflect current industry standards and best practices.
  •  
    • Participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities.
  •  
  • Compliance and Certification Preparation:
     
    • Ensure teaching aligns with certification standards (e.g., National Healthcareer Association)
  •  
    • Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and phlebotomy practices.
  •  
Qualifications:

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in phlebotomy, including venipuncture and specimen handling.
  • Teaching or training experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
  • Familiarity with modern phlebotomy tools and equipment.

Compensation: $25.00 per hour
